The Difference Between SAAS and the Traditional On-Premise Software?

Depending on your needs, the SaaS model provides more flexibility.  You pay for what you need, often differentiating needs through different levels of capacity offerings. In general,
SaaS payment models have a monthly or annual fee for licensing the product.
Traditional on-site TMS leaves the customer with most of the burden to keep the product for maximum availability
and customisation. On-premise software comes with the mentality of not calling us if it's not on fire–letting your IT department handle the issue. This also includes instillation, IT infrastructure and future upgrades.

Under the SaaS model, since the vendor hosts the software, it is the responsibility of the vendors to maintain, upgrade and see that the customer has no problems with their application.
SaaS vendors can also provide redundant instances in various secure data centres with increased security measures. Data centres off-premise provide the added benefit of better recovery
from disasters.

It takes several months and tens of thousands of dollars to get on-site applications fully rolling. It is a combined effort on the part of the vendor and the IT department
of the companies to get everything set up and running in the business environment. Long-term resource planning is required to effectively scale the application with the company's growth.
